Event Organiser

Asuncion, Paraguay Part Time / Contractor

Plan, coordinate, and deliver the weekly clubs, workshops, and special events that bring the 2ndLife community together in Asuncion.

Commitment: Part-time or contract engagement based in Asuncion, including some evenings and weekends.

What you will do

  • Own the event calendar from initial concept through delivery and follow-up.
  • Coordinate hosts, suppliers, venues, equipment, timings, and participant communication.
  • Create practical run sheets, confirm safety and access requirements, and solve issues on the day.
  • Track attendance and feedback to improve recurring clubs and future experiences.

What we are looking for

  • Practical experience coordinating events, hospitality, community programs, or productions.
  • Strong written and spoken communication; Spanish is important and English is valuable.
  • Reliable organisation, calm problem-solving, and confidence working with different people.
  • Good local knowledge of Asuncion and an interest in building an active community.

Community Workshop Host / Specialist

Commitment: Contract or session-based work in Asuncion, scheduled around the proposed activity.

What you will do

  • Design a clear, practical session that gives participants a useful skill or completed experience.
  • Prepare materials, equipment, safety guidance, and a realistic session plan.
  • Welcome mixed-experience groups and explain specialist ideas in an inclusive way.
  • Work with the Event Organiser to develop successful sessions into recurring programs.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrable expertise in a practical, creative, technical, professional, or cultural subject.
  • Confidence teaching, demonstrating, mentoring, or facilitating small groups.
  • A collaborative approach and a genuine interest in helping a community learn.
  • Spanish or English facilitation ability; bilingual sessions are especially welcome.
